The term genocide did not exist before 1944. It is a very specific term, referring to violent crimes committed against groups with the intent to destroy the existence of the group. Human rights, as laid out in the U.S. Bill of Rights or the 1948 United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, concern the rights of individuals.

The reason Elie Wiesel named the book night because to be a witness to the Holocaust, so that it would never be forgotten. Also, because talking about many people in those circumstances can be abstract and intellectual, whereas reading about a few people with names and personalities can bring the emotional reality of it closer.

-* The Holocaust began with Hitler's rise to power in January of 1933 and ended on VE Day May 8, 1945. During this time, more than 6 million Jews and millions of other groups that caught the negative attention of Nazi Germany. While all the murders were devastating to native populations, none were so devastating than that of the Jews. During this period, 5,000 Jewish communities were wiped out and the total that died represented 1/3 of all Jewish people alive at that time.

Now that the book is over i understand George all the way , and he should of killed Lennie because Lennie was a waste of time and space. He stood by his side even with the incident of the girl saying Lennie raped her. Its not that George hates him he cant no longer take his bull crap. Love is Love and George'd show'd his love by killing him .
